About the Conference

Junior Forensic Science Brno stands as a prestigious international forum exclusively dedicated to doctoral candidates eager to publish the latest findings of their specialized research. Entirely organized by the students of the Institute of Forensic Engineering at the Brno University of Technology—with generous support from our partners—since 2023 it has also benefited from a fruitful collaboration with colleagues from the Czech Technical University’s Faculty of Transportation. Under this arrangement, JuFoS (IFE BUT in Brno) and the YTEC (FT ČVUT in Prague) conference alternate annually.

This year’s edition—continuing a proud tradition—enjoys the patronage of

JUDr. Markéta Vaňková,
Mayor of Brno

Prof. Ing. Karel Pospíšil, Ph.D., LL.M.
Director of the Institute of Forensic Engineering, BUT

JuFoS offers a unique opportunity to forge new professional contacts and to exchange scientific insights among the next generation of forensic science experts—not only from the Czech Republic. The program is structured into three thematic sessions, in which contributors present their papers:

Road Traffic Accident Analysis & Valuation of Motor Vehicles, Machinery, and Equipment

Civil Engineering & Real Estate Valuation

Risk Analysis & Management

The conference culminates in a distinguished proceedings volume of peer-reviewed abstracts (ISBN assigned), and the most outstanding papers from each session will be published in the journal Forensic Engineering. Every participant will receive a certificate of attendance, which may also serve as formal recognition of continuing education for expert witnesses in their fields.

Year after year, JuFoS solidifies its reputation as a showcase of forensic engineering—serving not only as a platform for sharing innovative approaches but also as a bridge for deepening inter-university collaboration and fostering enriching dialogue among specialists.
